Cold war forced people to take special action in regard to eventual nuclear threat and shaped Nowa Huta, that supposed to be a model for socialist town. Air raid shelters were necessary facilities in every building. You’ll start with a ride in a genuine Trabant automobile to discover Nowa Huta from completely different perspective. Later on, you will reach ‚Head command post’ bunker (the crisis management special shelter) at the former Lenin Steelworks. Another attraction is a visit in abandoned administrative complex, in which typical Soviet architecture creates remarkable atmosphere. Tour will end with an exquisite Communist style cold buffet, including the famous Beef Tartare and a shot of vodka.

Trabant, an iconic automobile is a great option for those who are not interested in touring. Easy-going driver will pick you from your hotel and you will be able to choose from a few routes around Krakow. You will spend one hour in the famous 23 horse power „plastic box” created by East German engineers. Be prepared! If car breaks, the only way to move further is to push it 🙂 This is something what they call ‘unforgettable experience!
